Bound in Heaven (ENG)

Xia, a fashionable businesswoman, is trapped in a violent marriage with a wealthy man. After he provocatively gives concert tickets for her favorite singer not to her, but to a couple of friends, she meets the mysterious, terminally ill Xu, to whom she feels an intense connection. A year later, she encounters Xu again, now the owner of a simple noodle restaurant. Despite his illness, Xia chooses to stay with him, but her past soon catches up with her.

Bound in Heaven is a drama in which the main characters live each day as if it were their last. A captivating film with breathtaking cinematography, a powerful script, and irresistible chemistry between the lead characters. It is a story of passion, (despairing) hope, and mortality that lingers long after the credits roll.

Bound in Heaven was awarded the top prize at the Mooov Film Festival. An international jury — which included our own programmer Sam — named it Best Film of the festival. It also received the Youth Award from the festival’s young jury. In addition, it won the award for Best Cinematography at the San Sebastián International Film Festival.
