Description
A contemporary and humorous fable in which Don Quixote, wearing a colander on his head, and Sancho Panza as a food delivery courier roam the privatised streets of Marseille. In this hybrid fiction-documentary, we follow theatre maker Manolo Bez as the ingenious nobleman, mounted on horseback and armed with a long stick, accompanied by his loyal assistant and cynical voice of reason.
Together, they take on gated communities, treated as symbolic castles to be overthrown. Moving through the southern French city, their disarming costumes spark conversations with young people, addicts, immigrants and other marginalised figures. Gaspard Hirschi’s eccentric I Am Night at Noonday offers a playful perspective on the many faces of the segregated city.
