Description
Most teenagers spend the summer before their eighteenth birthday hanging out with friends, going to parties, and pushing boundaries. Not Ivy: her loving but overprotective parents send her to Children Run Free Camp, a summer camp for young people living with the effects of cancer. After one look at the cheesy promotional video full of sunsets and cheap crossfades, Ivy has seen enough: as if cancer wasn’t bad enough, now she has to go to summer camp too.
But “chemo camp” turns out to be surprisingly more fun than expected. Between snorting prescription pills, sneaking vodka, skinny-dipping, and making new friends, Ivy discovers a group of young people who, like her, refuse to let their illness define them.
