Description
Europe’s Wild Kingdoms
Europe’s most iconic monuments, from Mont Saint-Michel’s medieval fortress to Spain’s Alhambra palace, conceal extraordinary wildlife refuges. This breathtaking journey reveals how centuries of human architecture have created unexpected sanctuaries for rare species. Witness harbor seals and massive living reefs at Mont Saint-Michel, resurrected white-tailed eagles soaring over Scotland’s Duart Castle, and endangered bats colonizing Loire Valley châteaux. Discover reintroduced newts in Alhambra’s desert gardens and ingenious beavers inhabiting caves beneath Rome’s monumental Pont du Gard aqueduct.
Europe’s Wild Kingdoms – Water Worlds showcases nature’s remarkable resilience, proving that humanity’s grandest creations can become vital havens when conservation replaces conflict: a powerful testament to coexistence.
Wild Alps
In the middle of Europe, the Alps stand out impressively against the horizon.
Home to many animal species whose fates intertwine among these peaks: from the grass frogs that embark on long journeys of love to the extraordinary choreographies of the white-throated dipper to gain the partner.
And then the inhabitants of the forest are certainly present: the squirrel is taking away the supplies of the spotted nutcracker, the woodpecker is struggling with its nest construction, and the ant is building alliances with aphids. Through a privileged and fresh look at the life, love, difficulties and strategies adopted by these animals, we are able to discover that it’s not always the stronger who prevails but those who help each other. In this, trees and mushrooms are real masters.
