Description

Following the death of her grandmother (her ‘Bebia’), 17-year-old Ariadna (Anastasia Davidson) returns to Georgia. According to local tradition, she - as the youngest member of the family - is responsible for reuniting the body and soul of her grandmother by connecting a thread from the place of her death, a hospital, to her resting body, 25 kilometres away. Traversing exhausting terrain for days, alongside the young and enigmatic guide Temo (Alexander Glurjidze), Ariadna is forced to confront the impact the sometimes-cruel Bebia had on her childhood… Writer-director Juja Dobrachkous fashions images of haunting beauty. Gorgeous landscapes, Davidson’s great performance, and a lot of wisdom make this a remarkable fiction-feature debut.
