On Fridays 7, 14, 21, and 28 August, and 4 and 11 September, you are warmly welcome to six atmospheric open-air film evenings. Let yourself be surprised by a carefully curated program.
Pulp Fiction | Friday 7 August, 21:15
In Pulp Fiction, powerful crime stories are cleverly intertwined. The film follows two not-so-bright hitmen who are given a job that quickly gets out of hand. It also follows a boxer who is instructed to lose his next fight. Tarantino separates the different storylines, intricately weaves them back together in an ingenious way, and constantly jumps back and forth in time.
The film marked the comeback of John Travolta and the breakthrough of Samuel L. Jackson.
City of God | Friday 14 August, 21:15
A visually striking epic about life in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro. City of God is the name of a favela built in the 1960s to house Rio’s poor and remove them from the rest of the city. The two main characters grow up there: the violent and cunning Zé chooses the path of street gangs and drug trafficking, while the somewhat timid Rocket tries to escape this life by becoming a photographer.
Directed by Fernando Meirelles, the raw performances—especially from non-professional actors from the favelas—and César Charlone’s dynamic cinematography vividly capture the chaos of favela life.

The screening always goes ahead
Even in bad weather, you won’t miss out. In case of rain, the screening will be moved to Hall 1.
Location
The Open-Air Cinema takes place in the parking area of our neighbours, Linssen cs Advocaten, at Willem II-straat 29a in Tilburg.
Food & drinks
Get your favourite drink at the bar beforehand. As the films are shown without an intermission, we recommend doing this before the start. Bringing your own consumables is not allowed.

For the best film experience, you will receive wireless headphones, which can be easily adjusted to your preference.
