Description
In the afterlife, souls are given one week to decide where they will spend the rest of their “eternity.” New arrival Joan (Elizabeth Olsen) is confronted with an impossible choice between her husband Larry (Miles Teller), with whom she spent her entire life, and her first love Luke (Callum Turner), who died young in a war and has waited decades for her arrival. A bittersweet battle between the two men ensues as they try to (re)win Joan’s heart, giving a heavenly new twist to the idea of a love triangle. Eternity is a whimsical, nostalgic, and romantic comedy that plays with the question: how — and with whom — would you want to spend the rest of your “life”?
The film is directed by David Freyne and premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. It stars Elizabeth Olsen (Wind River), Miles Teller (Whiplash), Callum Turner (Emma), and Oscar-winner Da’Vine Joy Randolph (The Holdovers).
