The Chronology of Water

Thanks to a sports scholarship, the talented swimmer Lidia manages to escape her violent childhood, but her past continues to haunt her. The film traces her descent into self-destruction—through sex, alcohol, drugs, and rage—and her arduous path back, as she learns to transform her trauma into art.

The film premiered in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival.
