Sentimental Value

Sentimental Value follows actress Nora and her sister Agnes, who have recently lost their mother. When their estranged father, the successful filmmaker Gustav, reconnects with a film script, he offers Nora the lead role. This becomes the first step in his attempt to rebuild the bond between father and daughters.

Sentimental Value is the long-awaited new film from Joachim Trier following The Worst Person in the World. For this moving family portrait, Trier brings together an impressive cast, including Stellan Skarsgård, Elle Fanning, and once again Renate Reinsve. The film was awarded the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival and is Norway’s official Oscar submission.
