Description

When Iranian filmmaker Sepideh Farsi tries to travel to the Gaza Strip in April 2024, she is denied entry. Her plan to capture life under Israeli siege comes to a halt—until she connects with Fatma “Fatem” Hassona, a young, talented photojournalist from Gaza City. Fatem becomes her eyes in the devastated region.

Through video calls, the two women discuss the young photographer’s life: her extraordinary vitality, her hopes, her fears, and her tears. For more than 200 days, they stay in touch—until Fatma and her family are killed in an Israeli airstrike, just one day after the film’s selection for Cannes was announced.

Put Your Soul on Your Hand and Walk is a powerful tribute to all lives under fire.
