The movie
Nuremberg
An American psychiatrist examines the Nazi leaders who will stand trial at Nuremberg, but becomes entangled in the web of his most dangerous patient, Hitler’s confidant Hermann Göring.
Description
In 1945, shortly after the fall of the Third Reich, the top Nazi leaders are arrested. American psychiatrist Douglas Kelley is tasked with determining whether they are mentally fit to stand trial at Nuremberg. One of the prisoners he must assess is Hermann Göring—charming, manipulative, dangerous. What follows is a deadly battle of wits and power between the two men, as the world awaits justice. Based on a true story, previously published in book form as Jack El-Hai’s page-turner The Nazi and the Psychiatrist.
Nuremberg, based on the book The Nazi and the Psychiatrist by American journalist Jack El-Hai, depicts the psychological chess match between Kelley and Göring. Russel Crowe portrays the Reichsmarschall with a mix of charisma, arrogance, vanity, and humor that Kelley struggles to penetrate.
