Description

Nina works as a gynecologist in the only hospital of a small Georgian village. She is unconditionally dedicated to her patients, even if it means occasionally bending the rules. But when a newborn dies under her supervision, she is accused of negligence. As an internal investigation unfolds, Nina’s entire life is scrutinized, forcing her to question the choices she has made. April premiered at the Venice Film Festival (nominated for the Golden Lion) and was praised for Ia Sukhitashvili’s powerful lead performance, the striking cinematography by Arseni Khachaturan, and the sound design and score by Lars Ginzel and Matthew Herbert.
