Description

Mysteries of the Red Sea
Beneath the sunlit waters of one of Earth’s youngest seas lies a world unlike any other. Mysteries of the Red Sea follows OceanX scientists, filmmakers, and explorers as they embark on a groundbreaking expedition aboard an advanced research vessel to uncover the Red Sea’s hidden secrets.

From coral reefs thriving in record-breaking heat to alien-like creatures surviving in super-saline brine pools thousands of feet below, the Red Sea pushes the limits of life. Through breathtaking dives, deep-sea exploration, and rarely seen encounters, the film reveals the forces that shaped this extraordinary ecosystem and the species that call it home. It may even hold clues to the future of our warming oceans.

Deep Ocean: Kingdom of the Coelacanth
In 2024, two researchers, along with NHK's Deep Ocean team and the OceanXplorer crew, embark on an ambitious scientific expedition in search of the coelacanth off Indonesia. Despite some obstacles, they discover its hiding place and a clustered school of the living fossil fish.

Through 72 hours of successive direct observation and shooting using 8K deep-sea cameras, ROV’s multi-angled cameras and fixed cameras, they successfully capture clear images of the Coelacanth’s previously unknown behaviors and detailed fin movements in their natural habitat that are expected to contain important information about the evolution of land animals and the secrets behind the Coelacanth’s remarkably long intact survival.
