The movie
Derek vs Derek
In the English countryside, two farmers with the same name but completely different ideals find themselves at odds. While one sticks to intensive farming, the other lets nature take its course. A witty and moving documentary about change and rediscovery.
Description
In the idyllic English countryside, two neighbouring farmers named Derek are locked in a clash of opposing visions. While Derek Banbury remains devoted to intensive dairy farming, Derek Gow has abandoned convention to rewild his land, creating a haven for nature with ponds, beavers, wild boar and other native species. Their long-running feud is by turns funny, heated and deeply revealing, as escaped animals, mounting frustrations and a rapidly changing landscape test their convictions. But as nature slowly reclaims the land, an unexpected transformation begins, leading one man to rediscover a long dormant love of nature.
