Description
As the world around her slowly collapses, Linda becomes caught in a whirlwind of fear and uncertainty. Her child suffers from an unexplained illness, her husband has vanished without a trace, and a missing-person case suddenly hits close to home. Searching for something to hold on to, she turns to therapy, only to discover that her therapist is not who he claims to be. As the chaos escalates, Linda begins to question the true cause of everything that is happening.
In a masterful way, director and screenwriter Mary Bronstein evokes an intensely claustrophobic atmosphere in her darkly comic (body) horror film. She captures the desperation that arises within the crumbling walls of one’s own home—or even one’s own psyche. Lead actress Rose Byrne won the Silver Bear for Best Actress at the Berlin Film Festival.
