When they unexpectedly inherit a remote house in the Normandy countryside, a group of cousins discovers that they share a remarkable family history. In 1895, their ancestor Adèle, then 21 years old, set out in search of her mother in avant-garde Paris. At the time, the city was the epicenter of a new art world, with the rise of photography and the breakthrough of Impressionist painting. As the descendants retrace Adèle’s path, they uncover how her story is intertwined with this vibrant art scene—and even intersects with that of Claude Monet.
